So many visitors attended Peterborough’s 7th annual Fibre Arts Festival & Sale today, with 40 vendors, hands-on weaving, spinning and paper-making activities, demonstrations on wool felting, sock knitting, rug hooking, embroidery, weaving, spinning, and most fun of all – for me at any rate – how to blend fibres of varied types and colours using a hackle and making roving ready to spin into variegated yarn.
That’s a lot of jargon to say that I am having too much fun here, demonstrating to the curious what you can do with fibre – the kind you spin!
p.s. No wonder it felt like I didn’t stop talking all day, because the count is in and we had 736 paying visitors (plus their children who got in at no charge); that is a HUGE and happy crowd!!
